To øl «Yeastus Christ Supersour» (7,4%) 4/6

imageDeep straw-yellow which pours a nice hat with small bubbles. Nose is lightly acidic, and transforms into an increased acidic degree in mouth. Almost borderlining to bitter, in addition to sour. Light bodied but a very, very powerful taste to it. Lots of citrus, very summer-like. Also great traces of the malts here. Longlasting taste.

Haandbryggeriet «Surpomp» (8%) 5/6

imageDark ale, not even close to transparent. Pours small head. The nose is cherries, raisins, flowers and oak. As far as tastewise, it tastes stingy and fresh, with a very sour cherry-twist that sets in quickly… One can barely sense the fruity comfort before shivers are sent through the body. There’s an underlying sweet, fruity carpet in the back that in turn shows it’s precense, band the taste lingers with good lenght. The aftertaste is redwine from the storage in barrels.

Mikkeller «Spontan Cherry Frederiksdal» (8,2%) 5/6

imageAged in Malaga wine barrels, the expectations rises to the ceiling here… The aroma is oak and red wine, distinct smell of ripe berries. The colour is also extremely inviting- not burgundy but blood red, really dark. The closest to red wine out of any beer I’ve tried. Produces a light degree of foam inside the glass, but only at the edges. Taste: It gives me acidic ripe cherries, gooseberry and some oak. Just a mere hint of sweetness before turning dangerously acidic, and on the second sip, a hint of leather and overall very sharp. With the acidity lingering for a good while in the aftertaste.

Brouwereij Bockor «Couvée des Jacobines Rouge» (5,5) 4/6

image

Fragrances of yeast and raspberries/cherries. The colour is deep red, interesting & welcoming. When drinking, the first thing that’s presented, are lots of acidity crossed with a comforting sweetness- thereafter, the fruityness from the berries. The sour yeasttaste lingers for long.

Hornbeer «Eskil» (5,6%) 3/6

Black in looks and with a strange, fruity coffeearom, as well as spices. There’s something old about this beer- good maturity. The texture though is however, light, and the taste very acidic and fresh- not what I’d expected judging by the looks. A cavalcade of different tasteelements, but only for a very short while, falling flat far too early- only leaving a hint of coffee to hang.

Mikkeller «Sur Munk» (9,99%) 5/6

The nose is more fruit than (expected) sour. Tastewise, this is outstanding: Very teasing at the tongue with its edgy acidity, combined with a delighful sweet maltbody. The fact that it is as sour as it is, at the same time that it is not extesively dominant to a unpleasant level, makes this beer in the top league of what I’ve tasted so far.

Dworp – Hansens artisanaal «Oudbeitje» (6%) 4/6

OudbejiteOpening is spices meets yeast acidity, and one can even smell the sweetness in it. Preludium of comfy sweetness, in a velvetish sense. Exceptionally well- balanced, with a hint of the sea to it. Probably goes well in combination with seafood. Sour, sweet and alive- but all the time balanced and great. Inviting deep yellow colour as well.

Deathanie’s «Blackwit» (6%) 5/6

Deep, fruity and mateure, almost wine-like aroma at the nose. It opens in a rather fresh sense which is quickly followed by a beautiful taste of berries that earns it’s right position in the context. The clear ingredient seems to be cherries. A greet sweetness soothes at the end.

Douchesse De Bourogne (6,2%) 5/6

imageThis is very inviting with it’s dark red colour and sour fragrance. This is also reflected in the beginning of the tastejourney, before converting into maltheaven. Caramel is clearly present here. It lies lingering for a long time on the tongue, with it’s great cooperating tastes.

Wilderen «Kriek» (3,5%) 3/6

WilderenKriekThis beer smells of fruitcandy- more correct: Cherrycandy, on the borderline to artificial. It starts off acidious, before turning really sweet- very sweet… Quite refreshing and reminds of sodapop. But for variations ske, a nice installment.
